SSfS: “Lake of Fire” by Nirvana
As a teenager in the 90s, I immersed myself in the music of Nirvana. Kurt Cobain’s song writing and sound spoke to me in very profound ways. I’ve wondered before if this current generation needs an artist like Cobain, a fierce individualist and shrewd observer of the human condition. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve still retained my love of Nirvana. I’ve even grown a greater appreciation for the band and its contribution to my teenage experience.
This week’s song comes from their Unplugged album. It’s called “Lake of Fire” (it’s a cover of the Meat Puppets):
As a side note, I’ve changed the look of the blog to be in harmony with my homepage. However, I’m not really Wordpress savvy quite yet, so it’s quite likely that there will be a glitch or two in the system. If you find a glitch or just something that you don’t like, please let me know either in the comments or via email: jeff at wingets dot net. Thanks.
